isotope | not working in ie8

Please visit this page http://www.iamvishal.com/residen/?q=search-property

the script works in all browsers except in ie 8. While doing a debug session I don't get any errors and I know isotope works fine in ie 8 so I am confused why its happening here.

The code I have used:

Hello Vishal,

I've found a typo in your JS code:

  $container.isotope({
    itemSelector: '.item',
    // filter red items first

  });

You should remove the comma:

  $container.isotope({
    itemSelector: '.item'
    // filter red items first

  });

Hello Vishal,

I'll have a chance to test your site on real IE8 (Win XP), after about 7 hours. I will then answer you. Sorry about the delay.

I am don't have many tools here, but it seems that the problem is not isotope

If you undo the styles for the selectors for isotope and reveal the checkboxes (undo the display:none; ) it does behave normally. Also if you disable css altogether using the developer tools in ie, you can see that when isotope works properly

Make sure that the css for decorating the checkboxes is ie8 compatible

seeing you use :checked - it is not compatible with ie8 according to http://kimblim.dk/css-tests/selectors/

try adding a class to it instead using js and putting the style on that class instead

also, I would recommend to use some analytics to see if there are many visitors using ie8, and if it is worth it - seeing you are stylish. Make sure the effort is worth it

ps - and also delete that comma in isotope code, in case some old browsers can't handle it

I have started using the isotope framework and I am able to use it in all browsers except for IE8. I was surprised to see that the isotope landing/demo page http://isotope.metafizzy.co/ also does not works properly on IE 8. Can anyone help me out on this front?

Thanks, Shashank
