CSS/Javascript conflict while replacing navbar in a wordpress theme

Hi!

I bought a Wordpress theme, and I'm creating a Child theme/site from it.

PROBLEM: I want to replace its responsive navbar scheme with a different scheme that I found elsewhere (see below).

1) Here's a demo of the original parent theme, Showcase. (Narrow your browser to see how the left-side navbar appears on a phone): http://organicthemes.com/demo/showcase/

2) Here's a demo of Bamboo.js, the navbar scheme I want to apply to the child theme (again, narrow/widen your browser): http://www.andrewgreig.com/demo/bamboo/

Bottom line: I want my child Showcase theme (1) to use a Bamboo-style menu (2).

I installed the Bamboo.js css and Javascript files on my site (registered and enqueued them there). I also changed all the Bamboo.js class/id names to make them unique (so they don't conflict with names already used in the parent theme). And I made nav's and div's with classes and id's to match the Bamboo demo, removed (or at least tried to) the parent-theme responsive-navbar functionality, etc. But still this doesn't work right. In particular: the Menu-toggle icon does nothing when it's clicked (it's supposed to open/close the menu).

Can you make my Wordpress site work with the Bamboo navbar framework? (I can provide you my child theme files if you need them too.)

Thanks!

Hi Savage,

Could you provide link for your current WP, if it's live?

Hi Nikola

It's not live; can you refer to the parent theme demo that I posted?

My child theme is broken as described above, and I'm actively working on it (the problem above as well as other ongoing updates), so the demo I posted above is much more simple to understand and it's stable so that would be better to work with, wouldn't it? (Also the content in my Wordpress site contains NDA-protected data that I'm not permitted to post publicly).

Hi Sean,

Did you remove the old navigation JS code (example: http://organicthemes.com/demo/showcase/wp-content/themes/organic_showcase/js/navigation.js)?

Have you checked the console after clicking on the toggle?

I'll be available in 6-7hrs.

Yes I had deactivated the parent theme's phone nav javascript via a similar method.

Yes I check Console, although there's a lot going on there I'm not sure about. My default tool for console and inspecting elements is Firebug though sometimes I switch over to Chrome's event listeners.

Hi Sean,

Ok, can you paste all the messages from the console, here? Better use Chrome's console.
